Flying Fox XXL

1.6 km. 130 km/h. Head first.

The Flying Fox XXL in Leogang – one of the longest and fastest steel cable slides in the world.

It starts at Sport Mitterer by the Asitz cable car in Leogang. Take the cable car up to the mid-station, strap in – then head first, face down, 1.6 kilometres over forests, meadows and streams, up to 143 metres above ground. Speed? Up to 130 km/h. Braking? Automatic. The feeling? Indescribable. A shuttle waits at the exit to take you back to the start. Nothing like this exists anywhere else in the Alps.

From DAS SAAL: bus to Leogang, Asitz cable car from Sport Mitterer, mid-station, Flying Fox. Total approx. 40 minutes to the start. Advance booking recommended – especially in high season.

Tipp

Combine the Flying Fox with the Sinnepark. Start point and Sinnepark are right next to each other at the mid-station. Sharpen your senses for a few hours, then fly into the valley at 130 km/h.

Climbing: Dozens of challenges.

The Leogang Steinberge and Steinernes Meer are among the best climbing areas in the Northern Limestone Alps.

The Steinberge mountain sports region combines over 1,000 sport climbing routes, alpine multi-pitch climbs and 12 via ferratas – all within 25 minutes by car from Saalfelden. From family-friendly climbing gardens to the Pinzgawurm with 45 pitches in the 1,400 m Birnhorn south-east face.

Good to know.

Most starting points are reachable by bus or a short drive. The ski bus to Leogang stops right at the hotel door. The Mobility Card is available free of charge at reception.

Yes – no climbing experience needed. Minimum age 10 years, weight 35–110 kg. Staff secures you completely. Advance booking recommended, especially in high season.

The Sinnlehenalm (149 m, approx. 1:25 h) is ideal for families. Alpine delicacies and panoramic views at the top. Alternative: Leo's Game Trail at the Asitz (1.5–2 h puzzle hunt for children).

For via ferratas: climbing harness set, helmet and sturdy mountain boots are mandatory – all available for rent at local sports shops. For the Felsenfest climbing hall: everything available on-site.

The card offers free cable car rides, bus rides and discounts on many activities. Available at our reception.
